  Inpatient Admission Registrar - Under the supervision of the Revenue Cycle Manager, the Admission Registrar admits inpatients sent from physician’s offices as direct admission’s and completes follow-up on insurance benefits and all paperwork for the patient’s chart when the patient has been admitted through the Emergency Room.  Responsibilities include verifying that all necessary information on the admission is correct.  Admission registrar is also responsible for verifying insurance benefits for Inpatients.  Additional duties include but are not limited to: relief of ER Registrars if needed and time permits break and lunch, and to help out in Outpatient Registration as needed to accommodate the outpatients we serve.   Emergency Room Registrar - Under the supervision of the Revenue Cycle Manager, the Emergency Room Registrar is responsible for the registration of patients presenting for Emergency Room treatment.  Responsible for answering the phones and placing calls to physicians and other departments as requested.  Responsible for assisting patients, patient’s family, friends and general public.  Registrar will act as back up for the Out Patient Registrar and Inpatient Registrar after hours.    Out-Patient Registrar - Under the supervision of the Revenue Cycle Manager, the Outpatient Registrar is responsible for the registration of patient’s presenting for outpatient testing.  Responsible for answering the phones and placing calls to physicians for orders and/or diagnosis.  Registrar works very closely with the ancillary departments as needed for orders or rescheduling of patients.   Registrar is responsible for assisting patients, their family, friends and general public.  Will work closely with the H.I.S. Out Patient Coder to assure records have orders with a current and billable diagnosis.  Registrar will perform the duties of Admission Registrar as needed for breaks and lunch and at other times if required and is crossed trained for relief as Emergency Room Registrar when needed.
